The movie Miss Congeniality made fun of beauty pageants—I mean, scholarship programs—but pageants are big business. Contestants get put in the hot seat with some interesting interview questions. I decided to pick ten of these questions and pose them to an incredible group of romance authors to find out what they had to say. These authors write at various heat levels in several different subgenres, including contemporary, sci-fi, Southern, multicultural, m/m, m/f, and many other categories. Before looking at what anyone else had to say, I also jumped in and answered a few questions myself. I was surprised by just how much I was on the same page as many of my fellow writers.

I have to say, I love Stephanie Burke’s answer about blushing the best. It was like reading a mini-romance in itself. Tarah, I actually met Linnea Sinclair at an RT Convention years ago. She’s very nice, a memorable character herself, and a self-proclaimed “jewelry whore.” I’ve read all of her SFR work and am torn between liking Hope’s Folly or An Accidental Goddess best. I love the idea of saluting a cat.
