Fabulous and Free

It’s Memorial Day weekend here in the United States. Time to remember those who have fought for our freedom. That’s a great word, isn’t it? Freedom. Free.

I like to be free, and I enjoy free stuff, so I thought today I’d share links to where you can get free e-books. Most of these I covered in what has proven to be one of my most popular blog posts: Legal Alternatives to Piracy. I’m encouraged to see how many people have read that post and are obviously looking to get their e-books through legitimate, author-friendly sites. So bring on the free books!

(1)     Amazon.com offers lots of free e-books, though some are free for a limited time only.

If you’re looking for a good sci-fi romance, I recommend Suddenly a Bride by Ruth Ann Nordin. Nordin also has a great free historical romance, The Earl’s Inconvenient Wife. Lizzy Ford’s Rebel Heart is another fabulous sci-fi novel. For a great vampire read, check out Jessica Sorenson’s Darkness Falls.

(2)    Smashwords offers a whole section of freebies at http://www.smashwords.com/books/category/1/newest/0/free/any.

(3)    Liquid Silver Books now offers a Free Reads page where you can download books, though the titles available constantly change.

These are just a few places to get free books. You can also try your library overdrive, become a reviewer, or enter giveaways, among other methods.

You’ve got to love the word free!
