The truth is I’ve been a fan of vampire fiction for a long time. Anne Rice, Tom Holland, Laurell K. Hamilton, Kresley Cole, Fred Saberhagen—I could go on forever naming authors whose works I love. Pair vampires with romance, and I’m captivated. A man who can live forever has to pick up some serious skills in bed, right? Never mind that he can penetrate you with his fangs as well as his… But I digress. Having read tons of vampire romance over the years and dabbled in it some, I finally decided to jump in and launch the Vampire Territory series.
Although the books can be read as standalones, readers can follow the characters from the beginning if they want to read the series in order. The first book, Drinking Partners, introduces master vampires Alex Gage and Lucas Thane. Sparks fly when these two alpha personalities clash, but they’re the ultimate power couple.
Just My Type then picks up right where book one leaves off, only it focuses on Alex’s personal assistant (Melody) and her guard (Eryx), who like to trade barbs. The sexual tension between the two mounts over time, but Eryx isn’t the only contender for Mel’s attention. Alex’s human brother Wess has been spending a lot of time with Mel, and she likes his delicious human heat. Which man will she choose?
I’m thrilled by the enthusiastic reception readers have already given Drinking Partners and hope they enjoy the sequels. This series is definitely sexy, dark, violent (à la Kill Bill), and just a bit campy. I mean, who doesn’t like a heroine who literally takes people’s heads off when provoked?
